GENERAL FEES DUE JUNE 1ST

A reminder that general fees of $320 per child for the 2008-2009 school year was due June 1st. We do not bill so this is your reminder. Fees are late if not paid on or before June15th. A late fee of $10 will be assessed if not received by that date. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2008!

SUPPLY LISTS AND SUMMER READING LISTS

We sent home supply lists and summer reading lists last week. We hope that these lists will be helpful to you at the Book Fair and over the summer months.

UNIFORM ALERT

As in past years, we will require that uniforms be purchased from Michael's Uniforms only. In order to assist you with one stop shopping, Michael's will be here with an array of uniform items on Friday, August 8th in our auditorium from noon till 6:00 p.m. As usual, students will not be permitted to wear oversized or baggy clothes, and girls' skirts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee. Campus Uniforms and Land's End may still supply school jackets, school sweatshirts, sweatpants, and polo shirts. This will insure that all students observe the uniform code. Thank you.

SCRIP OVER THE SUMMER

Scrip will be available after Sunday Masses over the summer months. If you wish to purchase scrip over the summer, please do so after Mass on Sundays. As always, we thank you for your support.

NOON DISMISSAL FRIDAY

There will be a noon dismissal this Friday, June 6th because of the monthly faculty meeting. Please mark your calendars for Friday's noon dismissal. Thank you.

BOOK FAIR

Our Spring Book Fair will continue through Wednesday this week. If you haven't had a chance to check out the great selection yet, we encourage you to do so early this week. Thank you.

2008 - 2009 SCHOOL YEAR

For planning purposes, we wanted you to know that classes will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd. There will be a noon dismissal the first shortened week of school. There will be after school care on these days through the ADESTE Program. The school office will reopen on mid August.

FALL FESTIVAL IN SEPTEMBER

St. Monica's new Fall Festival is scheduled this year for Saturday, SEPTEMBER 27th and Sunday, September 28th. You will receive a volunteer flyer the first day of school. Thank you.

SCHEDULE FOR THE LAST DAYS OF SCHOOL/ADESTE INFO

  • Monday, June 9 - A "regular" school day
  • Tuesday, June 10 - NOON Dismissal/ADESTE at Duval
  • Wednesday, June 11 - NOON Dismissal/ADESTE at Duval
  • Thursday, June 12 - NOON Dismissal/ADESTE at Duval
  • Friday, June 13 - Last Day of School. [See below for more information]

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

As indicated earlier, we will dismiss at noon on Tuesday, June 10th through Thursday, June 12th. The last day of school is Friday, June 13th. The schedule for this last day is as follows: o8:15 a.m. Morning bell o9:00 a.m. Mass of Thanksgiving in the Church followed by Year-end Assembly [Parents are most welcome to join us and sit among our students], full dress uniform o10:30 a.m. Students return momentarily to their classrooms for distribution of report cards and to gather their belongings. oFinal Dismissal Please note: There will be an ADESTE Program that day; it will be located in Duval, as usual.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Parking will be available the last day of school on the parking lot. You can enter through the Washington gate and you will be directed where you may park.

AUGUST NEWSLETTER

Our informational August newsletter will be mailed August 1st. Please look for it. If you don't receive it within a few days of August 1st, please call and leave a message on the school phone. Thank you.

HIGH SCHOOL SNACK BAR AND TREPP LIBRARY CLOSED THIS WEEK

The High School is closed this week, therefore the Snack Bar and the Trepp Library are closed. Thank you.

CREATIVE WRITING AND ART EXPLORATION IN THE AFTERNOON

Our third grade teacher, Miss Dickerson, is offering a creative writing and art exploration class three days a week after the regular summer school classes. Please see the insert in with today's newsletter for more information. This class is open to incoming 3rd through 8th graders.

Snack Bar

The High School Snack Bar will be open this week.

It will be CLOSED next week, June 9-13. Please make sure your child has a lunch on Monday, June 9th. The 10th, 11th, and 12th are noon dismissal days. The 13th is the last day of school.
